CAT tools
Computers may be becoming increasingly powerful, but they are still nowhere near replacing human beings in the translation process. However, in recent years a number of "computer-assisted translation" (CAT) programs have become available. These are designed not to replace translators, but to work with them to improve the translation process. Among these products are so-called "translation memory" programs such as TRADOS. These programs can help ensure consistency throughout the document by "remembering" the correct translation and suggesting it to the translator each time the phrase is encountered.
Translation memory programs are invaluable for certain types of document and are now widely used throughout the translation industry. Our translators, project managers and IT specialists all know how to make the most of this valuable tool. Equipped with this knowledge, our team can handle extremely large projects that require sharing a TM (Translation Memory) over a network.
